About "The Castle of the Snow Woman"
This work was produced in 2002 from an original story by the director. It depicts a fantasy world, a story developed neither from dream nor phantom. In a sense, it is a "digital ningyo joruri" set in a beautiful miniature Japanese garden. All the characters are dolls of chirimen rendered using CGFX (computer graphics). Chirimen is a traditional Japanese crepe silk fabric.
This DVD consists of the original "Animation"and "Picture-Story Show for a Grown-up". The former has won awards at several international festivals, including "Anima Mundi 2002" and "Zagreb 2004".
